"Went to do a scouting run up in the San Juans. Started in Montrose, took an old cut off road from Kinikin road to Buckhorn road (adobe into the trees and ends in Colona). Then took the road from Billy Creek and ended at Pocochupuk. On into Ouray and up to Yankee Boy Basin. Deep snow and dangerous and falling snow. Rode up 550 to check the entrance to Corkscrew and the turn off was still under 1-3 feet of snow. No attempts have been made to go on the pass."
